EDHA lifts suspension order on former Speaker and Majority Leader watch the videos
The leadership of Edo State House of Assembly has lifted the suspension of the immediate past Speaker, Doctor Justin Okonoboh and the former Majority Leader, Foly Ogedengbe after considering the interim report of the ad-hoc committee set up to investigate the sanction.
Efosa Uwangue reports that the former Deputy Speaker Elizabeth Ativie and the member representing Esan North East Constituency Two remain suspended.
Considering the two recommendations by the ad-hoc committee, the Speaker Kabiru Adjoto said the lifting of the suspension of the former Speaker, Justin Okonobor and Majority Leader, Foly Ogedengbe became necessary as the duo cooperated with the committee.
Also at plenary, the house announced other principal officers.
The member representing Ovia South West Constituency, Sunday Aghedo was appointed Deputy Leader; Osaigbovo Iyoha representing Oredo East Constituency is now Chief Whip; Gani Audi representing Etsako West Constituency One was appointed Deputy Whip while Sunday Osazinwende representing Ovia North East Constituency One, and Festus Edughele representing Esan South East Constituency are co-opted members.
In the same vein, the Speaker has reconstituted the house standing committees earlier dissolved by the house.
The Speaker, Kabiru Adjoto will chair the selection committee; Deputy Speaker, Tenders Committee; Majority Leader, Rules, Business and Government House Committee; Nosa Okunbor, Head, Mineral Resources and Oil Committee and Bright Osayande, Education Committee.
Others are Infrastructure, Festus Edughele, Women Affairs; Justin Okonoboh, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs; Emmanuel Agbaje, Environment; Sunday Osazinwende, Health; Henry Okhuarobo among others.
The house during plenary also joined other Nigerians to welcome President Muhammadu Buhari back to the country after his health vacation in the UK.
